The nearly-a-year-later short update
Somehow, I managed to get completely distracted for nearly the last year... and didn't post any blog-like updates. Probably, because I've been working...for, um, a nonprofit.
Not that said work has been occupying all my time. In fact, I have plenty to allow for other projects. But, since what I do revolves around computers, spending even more inordinate amounts at home, staring at a screen became, well, less fun. I even cut back on my emailing and other online activities (e.g. Wikipedia-a-holic no more!)
I did, however, revamp another site six months ago, which is what's been vying for my Web attentions.
Blogging from Microsoft
So I'm in the Seattle-area over the Thanksgiving holiday... when the big snowy thing hits, and we're stuck 30 miles from my relatives' home right at the start of rush-hour. The highway is going about a mile an hour, and the minivan I'm driving is rapidly running out of gas. Fortunately, after an excruciating 1.2 miles, we make it to an exit. A fill-up and we take to the backroads- finally arriving a mere four hours after we started. My cousin and his wife, heading out of Redmond half an hour behind us, aren't so lucky - they end up staying the night with some family friends, getting in at six in the morning.
The next day, we're all stuck at the house, where I snap some snow laden trees, which explains the new wintery theme. Today, I fly back. But at the moment, I am sitting in my cousin's office at Microsoft, using his Toshiba tablet with hand writing recognition. It's geek-tabulous. It may be slower than typing, but it's oh-so Star Trek.
New look, same great taste
I'm trying out a smoother, more refreshing appearance. It's got the same content, but half the calor.. um... something. Ahem. There is such a thing as carrying a clever metaphor too far. So yes, got bored. New theme. Still working the kinks out. Hopefully this won't turn into New Coke.
And in the No V-Day Category
There will be no Valentine's Day post. This may be construed as a recursive joke, for those who find humor in such things.
