Vamping away at SaveANGEL.org

The fights at SaveANGEL.org goes on… and it’s picked up friends and enemies.

We’ve put up the “new targets” including the co-Chairman of The WB and the head of Warner Brothers. Can we say, “reaching for the top?”

And declared “War on Ratings” — and the Nielsen’s aren’t going to be happy with me.

The campaign’s also been getting some nice coverage. The latest being in Entertainment Weekly’s Ken Tucker column.

Another just-canceled show still drawing hoots and hollers from angry fans is “Angel,” a WB tale about a vampire detective and a spin-off from the now-defunct “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” program.

“Angel” officially wraps this spring, but vamp fans are trying to either change WB’s mind or talk another network into picking up the show for a sixth season, much like UPN did with “Buffy” toward the end.

The official Angel site is “saveangel.org” which is a well-designed site giving a countdown to the end, a list of polls about the future of the show, and how to get involved.

Fans of the show were asked last week to call their local WB affiliate, along with targeting the big network bosses. They are also encouraged to take polls at different Web sites to show that Angel fans are tops, sign an online petition, and download stuff for their own sites.

For those new to the Angel/Buffy universe, the site also includes information about the different characters, details about the cast and crew, what they think about the imminent cancellation, and favorite quotes from both shows.

And Toy New International posted this report by Jay

The WB announced on February 14 that it would not renew Angel for a sixth season. While fans in the United States slept, Simon Fleischmann of Israel went to work on a website to help save the show and SaveAngel.org was born. While the site provides information on how to contact the executives of the networks, it also contains an online petition which garnered 20,000 signatures on the first day. While the signatures continue to increase, major newspapers around the world are giving the site press, including the Wall Street Journal. Of course other websites, including TVGuide.com, are helping to save the show by promoting SaveAngel.org.

Please help save the show by signing the petition and/or using another method provided by this great site.
